Played 3 years Varsity at Los Gatos High School.  All League.  Drafted by Cubs 21st round as a SS.

Played 4 years as a second baseman at Santa Clara University.  All League West Coast Conference.  Selected to play for the Champion US Collegiate team in the World Baseball Tournament in 1974. Selected by the Brewers in the 6th round in ‘74. Selected in the winter draft by the Brewers in Jan ‘75.  Finally signed with the Kansas City Royals in June ‘75 1st Round of the Secondary Phase.  Mike played summer collegiate baseball for the Boulder Collegians, Pierre Cowboys and Anchorage Glacier Pilots.

Professionally played in ‘75 Rookie League for Royals in Sarasota Gulf Coast League.  Selected for League All Star Team. Played 2b, SS and 3b.
In ‘76 he made the AA Jacksonville Suns out of Spring training playing 3b all season until promoted to AAA Omaha on August 1st. Played utility SS and 2b.
In ‘77 Mike played all season at SS for the Jacksonville Suns highlighted by player of the month of July. Missed 2 games all season.  Helped the team to a runner up for the League Title losing to the Montgomery Tigers with Allan Trammel at SS and Lou Whitaker at 2b.  Was second vote getter for all-star team behind Trammel.
Finally in ‘78 he was the starting SS for Omaha, Champions of the American Association. Injuries cut the season short and  retired from baseball after that season.

Mike coached at Los Gatos High from ‘82-84 then coached his sons Tim And Mikey in Little League thru Colt League from ‘85-2000. In 2009 he returned to Los Gatos High coaching through 2014 (Head coach 2010-2012).

Mike has played in the Men’s Senior Baseball League since 1989 attending the MSBL World Series each year and winning over 20 rings in the 30, 40, 50, 55, 65 and 70 divisions along with 7 Father-Son Championships. He currently plays in the Chicago North MSBL.

He was inducted into the Los Gatos High Hall of Fame in 2007 and the MSBL World Series Hall of Fame in 2014.
